The Six Days Weekend on January 30 and 31, 2026, will feature an outstanding field of participants just a few days before the European Championships. Roger Kluge, Moritz Augenstein, and the two Dutchmen Vincent Hoppezak and Yoeri Havik will compete at the Velodrom Berlin. Among the sprinters, Max Levy will make his eagerly awaited comeback, with Robert Förstemann and Esow Alban (IND) among his opponents. Among the female sprinters, Anastasia Kuniß, Alessa-Catriona Pröpster, and Emilia Waterstradt have confirmed their participation. Further riders will be announced soon. In addition, the 113th Berlin Six Day Race will see a world record attempt over 1,000 meters Madison time trial by Kluge/Augenstein on Friday and Robert Förstemann’s first public appearance with his new tandem partner Marc Lembeck in Germany on Saturday.

“For many athletes, the Sixdays Weekend will be the last big test before the European Championships, which will take place from February 1 to 5 in Konya, Turkey. Spectators at the Velodrom Berlin can therefore look forward to outstanding track cycling at the Sixdays Weekend,” said Valts Miltovičs, Managing Director of the Sixdays Weekend.

High demand for tickets

“Ticket sales are going very well. Saturday will soon be sold out. There are only 30 tickets left in the lower tier on both straights and the finish curve.” Due to the high level of spectator interest for Saturday, for the first time there will be indoor tickets without seat reservations. At the end of December, two lucky winners will be drawn from among all ticket purchasers, who will be allowed to give the official starting signal on Friday evening together with Simon Geschke (stage winner of the 2015 Tour de France).

Kluge/Augenstein vs. Hoppezak/Havik

A total of 14 endurance teams, 6 female sprinters, and 6 male sprinters will ensure plenty of action on the 250-meter oval. The focus this year will once again be on the elite men’s field. Local hero Roger Kluge will be competing with a new partner after his long-time friend Theo Reinhardt ended his career at last year’s Sixdays Weekend. Kluge, a three-time world champion, will now be competing with the current scratch world champion Moritz Augenstein. Together, they want to claim victory.

The opponents

Their toughest rivals are the team of Vincent Hoppezak (European champion in Madison 2025 and big favorite to defend his title just one week after the Sixdays Weekend) and Yoeri Havik (world champion of 2023). The German-Dutch duel promises to be extremely exciting in the elite field. Another top team is not quite a done deal yet. Michele Scartezzini is waiting for confirmation from his Italian compatriot Filippo Ganna. If the two do indeed ride together, they will also be contenders for victory. Scottish Madison champion Logan Maclean alongside British champion Frank Longstaff is also likely to be a force to be reckoned with. Peter Moore from the USA (World Championship bronze medalist in 2025) will also be at the start, but his partner has not yet been confirmed.

The sprinters

The men’s sprint field is eagerly awaiting the comeback of the year: nine-time winner of the Berlin Six Day Race, Max Levy, is getting back in the saddle and ready to give it his all. The multiple world and European champion and Olympic medalist ended his career at the Velodrom in January 2023. Now, surprisingly, he is competing once again. Robert Förstemann, also a Six Days legend and most recently awarded bronze at the 2024 Paralympics, will be a tough rival. Esow Alban from India and Benjamin Bock have already been confirmed as further riders.

The female sprinters

The women’s sprint field already has three very strong German riders at the starting line: Anastasia Kuniß, Alessa-Catriona Pröpster, and Emilia Waterstradt. Three more starters will confirm their participation in the coming days.

Admission for the Six Days Weekend is at 6:00 p.m. on both days, with races starting at 6:40 p.m. Racing continues until midnight each day. As always at the Berlin Six Day Race, there will be plenty of music, drinks, food, and entertainment in addition to the sporting events.
